Discounted Relentless Nass Tickets Available from Upfest

Support Upfest and our artists at this years Extream Sports Festival...

Upfest, Established in 2008 has fast become the largest 'live' street art festival across Europe. We now work with over 200 Urban & Contemporary artists from across the globe promoting street work, design and 'live' art. With the help of other festival like Relentless Nass and Boardmaster we have been given the opportunity to take the 'live' element of our work on tour, promoting the work and the ethos that great original artwork isn't just for the select few.

Just over 200 artist were at our festival in June including 45 from outside the UK, artists this year were asked to collaborate with mashUP's so over half the artists were working together in crews or pairs creating proper big and mixed up work. Part of the philosophy of Upfest has been to keep the festival open to artists with varying levels of experience and each year even the newest guys and girls are really stepping up to the challenge and stress of painting in front of thousands of visitors, the comments we have had through emails and our Facebook fan page definitely agree that we have stumbled across the right approach.

The intrinsic link between skating, hip hop, the world of graffiti and urban art has been with us from day dot and is why we are pleased to bring the 'live' environment to Relentless Nass so your festival goers can really appreciate the skillz these artists have with a can.

This weeks stunning competition canvas comes from DOC, to win it please visit kiss101 and answer a simple question...

Danny O’Connor aka DOC is a Graphic Arts Graduate from Liverpool’s John Moores Art School. There is a strong graphic element visible in his paintings. With influences from Character Design, Comics, Illustration and Graffiti Art, all pulled together to create his stylised portraitures.

He uses a wide range of media to create his work from acrylics, spraypaint, ink and paint markers, to household paints such as gloss and emulsion. The result is visually striking paintings full of energy, often with expressive brush strokes and splashes of paint with an almost hypnotic appearance. The strong urban influences are reflected in the work he places on the street for passers by to view and take with them if they wish. The street application of the work adds fresh dimension to the paintings, bringing the characters in them to life and sharing his passion for his work with everyone.

Danny will be painting live at Upfest’10 or other examples of his work can be found here or at the Wilder Gallery in St Pauls, Bristol.

This weeks canvas from Rocket01

My name is Rocket01 and i am an artist from Sheffield. I have been painting graffiti now for 16 years with no breaks or holidays. I have painted my work in many countries all over the world and i just cant get enough of painting. I enjoy working on large walls and collaborating with other artists to produce murals of different styles! I am interested in pushing the spray can to its limits and i have have an obsession with painting light.

Most of my work is painted in places of decay and neglect and out of sight from the public, I enjoy painting old buildings and abandoned factories as they leave behind great surfaces on which to work. More recently my work has been focused on organic styles in particular plants and animals. More images and further profile on Rocket01 can be found at www.rocket01.com .

Visit http://www.totalkiss.com/2010/03/upfest-2010/ to enter with this weeks simple question...
